I'd recommend one of our road trips from Miami to Key West or from Tampa to Key West - especially if you want to explore Floridas best beaches before heading down to the Keys. So, if you want to do a road trip, direct flights from London to Florida arrive at Miami, Tampa and Orlando, (with Tampa being the smallest airport and hence quickest to get through) but if you're short on time this guide gives you flight options to fly into Key West.
The most important thing if you're flying, particularly at a peak time such as holidays, is to book early, especially if you have reward points or vouchers from BA or Virgin to use.
You can either buy the flight with a connection via one airline, or book a return to any of the following hubs in the USA, and then separately book your domestic flight to Key West from there. Whichever works best for you depends on prices (you can usually get reward/miles/points seats more easily into hubs like New York and Atlanta, and sometimes its cheaper to book separate legs so check this before booking) and what else you want to do on your holiday!
You may want to get a return from the same city, or you may want the fastest route into Key West and then fly on somewhere else to continue the holiday afterwards.
Major airports which have direct flights to Key West:
Boston
New York (La Guardia or Newark)
Philadelphia
Washington DC
Charlotte
Chicago
Nashville
Atlanta
Dallas
Houst
Orlando
Miami
Tampa
