Florida has so many amazing beach towns to visit, for this post I've narrowed it down to my 10 favourites on the Gulf coast

The Gulf coast has some of the best beaches in Florida, usually coupled with a laid-back vibe, which extends to the calmer seas and warmer weather. While the Atlantic coast has more rugged seas and bigger cities such as Miami and Fort Lauderdale, the Gulf coast has a good range of cities with some boasting fancy upscale restaurants such as Naples, Sarasota and St Petersburg and others with a more chilled-out beach/bar vibe like Fort Myers Beach, and you're never far from a nature reserve or state park so you can have plenty of variety as you wander through your road trip

St Pete Beach

Situated 20 minutes drive from downtown St Petersburg, St Pete beach is a lovely quiet beach town to escape to, while still having all the amenities of a big city a short drive away. St Pete Beach itself has amazing beaches and a really pretty island to explore, as well as excellent beaches and miles of them. Our favourite hotel here is the Rumfish, which although it can get a bit busy at holiday time with families, is quite well spread out and is decent value considering its location right on the beach. As well as being able to walk right out onto the beach, you also have several beach bars (Jimmy Bs is a favourite for having licve bands!) in walking distance and usage of the facilities and beachfront bars at their sister property Tradewinds resort.
